Experience Level: Expert
Please draft a critical review of the research proposal added in 1,500 words; this word limit does not include the title page, table of contents, reference list, or appendices. However, these need to be written as well. Deadline two days.
In your assessment of the example research proposal, please reflect on the quality and the appropriateness of the proposed research design. These two aspects include specific elements:
Quality includes but is not limited to:
- The reliability, validity, and credibility of the process (and potential resulting
data) detailed in the research proposal;
- Clarity of the research design, with elements that are logically related to each other and are well rationalized;
- Clear identification of the potential limits of the approach, and enough transparency in the proposed approach that the method could potentially be replicated;
- Use of specific and clear language that facilitates reader understanding;
- Contribution of the research to the larger field, discipline, or wider scientific knowledge, which requires identification of positioning of the proposed research in the wider literature.
Appropriateness includes but is not limited to:
- Clear identification of a problem statement that well reflects the state of
literature and is well oriented within the relevant literature;
- Clear and logical relationship between the proposed research question(s) and the selected cases, data collection methodologies, and data analysis strategies;
- Feasibility of the proposal, including of the proposed methods and of the scope indicated in the research question(s);
- Use of theory in a well-justified manner;
- Consideration of ethical dimensions or dilemmas of the research.
Please assess quality and appropriateness of the following elements of the proposal:
1. literature review;
2. problem statement and research questions;
3. hypotheses (if present);
4. use of theory;
5. case and sample selection and data collection/analysis methods; 6. overall quality and soundness of the research design.
PS. please use literature sources to support your arguments.
