Our audiobook business is growing fast, and we are looking to recruit several freelance audiobook proof-readers.

Location: Remote-working

Rate: £17/finished hour (If the reader is fluent and there aren’t many misreads, then 1 hour will take c. 1 hour 20 mins. This equates to c. £13/hour or £100/day. When we have a difficult project we will pay extra for additional work, to be discussed in good faith.)

Hours: Flexible – typically 20-30 hours per month

Start: Immediate

Previous audiobook proof-reading experience is desirable, however we will also consider freelancers with other proof-reading experience.

Attention to detail and ability to work to agreed deadlines are essential requirements. Testimonials from recent work would be a significant advantage.

How is this job still live?

  • Simon H.

Hello, why necessarily UK-based, isn't it possible for a non-UK individual to do a better job..?

    Jenny R.26 Nov 2016

We prefer being able to work on the same timezone.

    Simon H.26 Nov 2016

Well, one hour hardly matters :). I will take full responsibility fpr any problems, to the point of being unassigned because of them.

Hi Jenny, can proofreaders without experience in audio book proofreading but ample experience as copy editors apply for this job?

    Jenny R.26 Nov 2016

Yes, we will consider this experience, although candidates with audiobook experience are likely to be higher priority.
