Please read the below as these were the instructions required to complete the profile.
I'll send you though a very rough draft of what I have done already as so you have a few details about me. you will need to find out further information about me to complete the profile.
Your sitter profile is the 'make or break' step that determines your success. It is like a friendly CV and in essence you are applying for job and there will be other applicants. Typically homeowners will meet with two other sitters before making a decision.
Ways to make your sitter profile stand out
The purpose of photos is not just to show what you look like. A picture tells a thousand words and gives homeowners an impression of who you are. Use photos that show you having fun with pets and enjoying life. Avoid photos that include other people and make sure your photos are good quality. A sharp photo taken on a phone is acceptable. We find that 3 - 6 photos work best.
References are your opportunity to establish credibility. Get as many references as possible and make sure they are no more than 2 years old. References must be dated and include a contact phone number. The best references are from past housesits you've done but until you can build these up, you can use landlord, employer or character references. References from family are not accepted.
Your intro letter should give the homeowner an overview of who you are, all your experience with pets (even from growing up) and why they should choose you. Use this dialogue to tell a story about yourself and mention your hobbies, interests and house sitting goals so homeowners can relate to you. If you work from home, work part time or are even retired, make sure you talk this up as it is a huge bonus to many homeowners whose pets are used to more attention during the daytime. Usually 300 - 350 words works best.
Take a look at your profile through a homeowner's eyes and ask yourself "would I trust me?"
