Description
The focus of the company is e-commerce, selling decals for various applications (probably easiest to check out the website to get an idea). We have a blog section that has a handful of initial posts on it, the last of which was a fair while ago, so we're looking for someone to help us on a regular basis.
One of the concepts we want to introduce will be that we pick a product at random on a regular basis - kind of like a "Weekly Spotlight" feature. Would then like fairly brief articles just giving a bit of opinion on the product and then perhaps going off on tangents for anything that might be related to the product (I can explain further on an individual basis if that doesn't make sense!).
Fundamentally the aim is for good content to capture a wider audience on a vast array of subjects, ultimately attempting to convert those readers into buyers without saying BUY THIS NOW!
We're a small business that have been running for several years and don't intend on going anywhere, so work will hopefully be quite regular. As such, price needs to cater for the repeat work. Happy to pay a little more for initial articles to test the waters, but over the long run need to be able to negotiate a rate that works for both parties.
Also worth noting early on, that the intention is to appear as though the "team" or "company" have posted the blog, so it's unlikely that authors would be credited as such, so I guess it's kind of like ghost-writing - happy to discuss this aspect though, as this is the first time using a freelance writer so willing to discuss ideas to benefit all involved.
By all means send over any snippets that demonstrate writing style. Look forward to seeing who reaches out to us! :)

What's the expected word count?
Joe S.22 Aug 2018Hi,
This time around 500 words is probably a reasonable minimum but to be honest it might depend on the topic/style of each post. I'd definitely say preference is for content to have a natural feel to the structure, rather than any filler parts that are just there to bump up word count, or vice versa just get cut short all of a sudden.
In the long run, a mixture of varied length articles on the site will hopefully be more engaging than regular articles all at a fixed length - short, snappy articles for some topics may be just as engaging as long-form blogs on other topics. There's potentially quite a range of topics to cover depending on which product is picked each time.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.
