Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Num. of articles: 1
Words per article: 1000
Information for the blog/website: Disability Magazine - feature on inspirational paralympians
Industry: Publishing/Journalism
Topic: inspirational paralympians
Tone: Enthusiastic
Outline & Structure: Target Audience: We publish a disability magazine aimed mainly at disabled people with physical disability.
Brief: Our next issue is themed as our "Inspiration issue". The Paralympics provided a huge number of inspirational performances from great athletes from around the globe. Paralympic debutant, Kadeena Cox proved to be unstoppable as both a cyclist and a sprinter whilst few would have expected to see the incredible Egyptian table tennis player, Ibrahim Hamadtou who uses his mouth and feet to compete.
Elsewhere Abdellatif Baka of Algeria won the T13 1500m in a time that would have won him an Olympic gold had he ran in the final!
Paralympic athletes are ‘athletes’ first and ‘disabled people’ second and show that disability does not have to be the thing that defines a person. This feature should showcase the most inspirational athletes to have competed at Rio.
