Outline & Structure: Hello! We are a UK based Digital PR/SEO agency looking for a part-time Chief Writer and Deputy Editor for our fast growing team.
From this position, your responsibility will be to take on writing tasks, provide editing back-up and assistance to the rest of the editorial team whenever needed. Ideally the person we are looking for is a highly skilled writer and editor passionate about sports, constantly up to date to the latest news and events in the sports world.
As an agency we are very focused on working with self motivated freelancers, capable of taking personal responsibility and working autonomously, to produce great results.
What will you be doing
- Writing high quality articles on a number of sports with an emphasis on football. Articles will include news stories, betting previews, top five lists etc.
- Providing Editing support to Head of Sports Content.
Requirements
- Excellent standard of English
- Sound knowledge of all sports with specialist knowledge of football and one other area (not necessary to specify which one).
- Previous Editing Experience - both text and picture editing
- Experience of working with Drupal useful but not essential
Commitment
- Initially 10 hours a week but there is potential for this to take up 50% of the candidate’s time.
- Ability to respond to breaking news and write a ‘same day’ article when required.
