Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
An article writer / blogger with the capability to write convincingly about fairly technical topics mostly within the UK financial services and IT sectors.
Whilst there will be occasional need for articles about personal finance, the majority of articles will focus on broader industry themes such as how web technology can help financial providers meet client expectations / work more efficiently etc.
INDICATIVE BUDGET:
£20/hour – In reality, I will prefer a fixed fee basis at least initially while we get used to working together but have indicated an hourly rate as a guide to the ballpark level I am hoping to pay.
MORE DETAILS:
Applicants should provide copies / links to blogs or articles they have written in the past within a similar field.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to produce a PAID FOR 500 word article about how technology is changing financial services which we'll use to gauge how we work together.
This is a long term opportunity with levels of available work varying with client need, however, with the right person to support me there is plenty of scope to acquire more clients and expand the workload. Work will get underway in earnest in January, although I'd like to have shortlisted and received draft articles before the end of the year.
WHAT TO SEND:
Alongside details of your background, please provide the following to be considered:
1) YOUR HOURLY RATE
2) A QUOTE to complete a 500 word article (i) on the basis that little additional research is required (ii) on the basis that a general topic is supplied but independent research is required to support article production
3) SOME DETAILS about your availability in terms of weekly commitment / time of day etc. and usual turnaround time required for a 500-1000 word article.
These articles are written for readers not search engines, however, a rudimentary ability to insert keywords naturally within the text if required would be an advantage.
The ability to work independently and consistently meet agreed deadlines is absolutely essential.
Whilst a good working knowledge of the financial or IT sectors (currently biased towards the mutual fund industry and/or payment technology and web based solution for financial providers / corporates) would be useful, what's most important is the ability to read and digest source material and translate it into a compelling, interesting article that meets the brief in terms of covering key themes that the clients wants to convey.
The audience for these articles are usually industry insiders, so the articles need to be technically correct and thought provoking.
I look forward to hearing from you.
