Argument for why inmates should receive college education

I need to expand my current essay to reflect a more argumentative stance on why inmates within the United States prison system should receive a college education. Reason being because it reduces recidivism, helps released persons hold permanent jobs, and keeps that member at home with family rather than in prison.
