Outline & Structure: Outline & Structure: The students should individually prepare a synopsis in which the methodological choices and the philosophical choices regarding the planning of a research project based on a research question of the student’s own choice – are considered. This synopsis is to be seen as a brief point of departure for the 30 minute oral exam. The synopsis could include considerations on the following:
• Introduction, research question, sub questions and limitations
• Philosophical assumptions
• Literature studies
• Choice of theories and models, data collection, sampling, representativity and analysis
At the oral exam the student is to reflect upon and critically discuss these choices.
The purpose of the exam is to test the student’s philosophical and methodological competencies as described in the curriculum.
