Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: Ongoing
Num. of articles: 3 per week
Words per article: 200 - 400
Information for the blog/website: Equestrian Insurance
Industry: Sports and Fitness
Topic: Equine & Insurance
Tone: Informal/Casual
Outline & Structure: I work for a mid range equine insurance brand that's just finding it's feet, and the aim is to get social media up and running for when the website goes live in November (1st). The feedback from our small customer base is really positive so far so I want to expand this brand's image by engaging with our target audience on a personable level strongly from the start.
Our first idea is to put together a newsletter for current and potential clients in which we'll have some great content and links to our website/ social media pages.
Because insurance is a slightly 'unfun' product for equestrian enthusiasts I would like a friendly, down to earth writer providing interesting and fun but knowledgeable reads. It is essential that we have a writer that is passionate about horses just as the staff are so I'd be looking for a strong background in equestrianism and someone that's confident in writing from experience.
As mid range, our target audience is anyone from pony club to affiliated so a longstanding background would be great in order to write about varied subjects across the horsey world i.e. pony club mums to showing etiquette. A background in insurance would also be very beneficial to the role.
The type of articles we're looking for are local news, latest advice i.e. loaning, product announcements, information/ reviews of local shows, comical stories and if you have horses/ actively competing, anything you can think of that would appeal to the audience on their level.
Extensive research needed: yes
Extra notes: We are aware that for insurance, it's the type of purchase that is bought and forgotten about. We will over time create incentives for customers/ public to like our social media pages but the content has to be engaging and there first.
Our insurance policies cover Horses, Mature horses, Trailers, Horseboxes and Rider insurance. We are attending local shows to start but will build up when the brand starts taking off.
If there's anything you'd like to know about us just ask, otherwise an example of your work would be great to look at.

Could you provide an answer to the q below such that it's clearer what you require?

When you mention local news local to where? For example Ayr racetrack wasn't incurred for it's cancellation of the Ayr Gold Cup ten days ago but perhaps by local you are looking for 'micro' stories like the third pony rider in that race that Dettori's son raced in going to Newbury insted of Newmarket or stories from local pony shows or point to points..?
