I have a modification I need with WooCommerce and it's over my head to get it done. I'm a developer as well, but the details of WooCommerce are stumping me here. I have an online store that has several seminars as products. For example, one of the products is a Basic Seminar. It is a variable product that ranges from $195 to $450 . We don't want the range to show up in the store or in the individual product. Instead we want the base cost of the seminar which turns out to be $395. This is the default price that shows up when a person visits the detail product page and offers the options.
I want to be very specific, so with a product that has variations, the price range is usually shown at the top of the product page and the variations are show lower down with the actual cost that changes as the variations are changed. We want the default price ($395 in this example) to show at the top along with the normal behavior lower. But for the life of me I cannot get the default price out of the code. It involves query's and function calls that don't make a lot of sense to me. Plus the sample code that is available online usually doesn't work as WooCommerce changes so frequently. So this is what I'm after. I can make a video of it as well. Plus this "Default" price needs to show up in the store for the variable products as well. The same webhook controls the price for both I've found.
I have code already in my functions.php file in a child theme. All I need is the code to put in there to do what I need. Since there are more than ten variation products available, I don't want to hard code the prices if that's even possible.
I'm also looking for a person I can contact for additional things as they come up and need someone I can trust. Do you give me an overall price for this? Never hired someone like this before.
Thanks,
Jeff
Here's what I've come up with so far with a test product:
product id: 1262
1.10 1.11 small 1267 _price = 1.10
2.10 2.11 medium 1266 _price = 2.10 (default)
3.10 3.11 large 1265 _price = 3.10
4.10 4.11 x-large 1264 _price = 4.10
postmeta table I'll need the product id to start which is 1262
_default a:1:{s:4:"size";s:6:"medium";}
_product_attributes a:1:{s:4:"size";a:6:{s:4:"name";s:4:"Size";s:5:"value";s:32:"small | medium | large | x-large";s:8:"position";s:1:"0";s:10:"is_visible";i:1;s:12:"is_variation";i:1;s:11:"is_taxonomy";i:0;}}
Not sure how to access this metadata because I don't understand WP Query's nor array structures. But in this example I would want the $2.10 to show in the store for this product and at the top of the product page and not $1.10 - $4.10
