I'm a bit stumped with an issue I'm getting and need assistance.

I'm using wordpress, the roots theme, and a plugin that creates a custom post type called 'display'.

To assign a template to that display post, I'm having to use a template file called 'single-display.php', but despite turning the sidebar off, it's appearing still and I want to know how to fix it.

I also require learning how to do this for future reference.

I've been trying to piece the following article together, and the plugin code to find the answer but I can't.

Article: http://wp.tutsplus.com/tutorials/widgets/using-custom-post-types-to-create-a-killer-portfolio/

Code: http://pastebin.com/3cPHgKdy

End result: http://j.mp/10epg65

I want the left sidebar (which is in the template), but not the default right sidebar.

My roots config file looks like this (which should get rid of the sidebar in question):

http://pastebin.com/4yRdnTzd

Assistance as soon as possible would be appreciated :)
