Hello there,
I was hoping you may be able to help.
My site www.kasakosa.com is chronically slow, the back end included. I tried to upload a new product to it the other day, it was unable to load the image library and then disconnected from the server. Some sort of timeout. This is obviously untenable.
My website is in desperate need of a speed increase and performance boost.
I have performed both gtmetrix and google speed tests and got similar results.
It takes over 12 seconds to load a single page. :(
In the google test, my server response time was 5.7 seconds. Now I understand that many factors influence this but it seems like an area that could drastically be improved.
The images on my site are telling me they are compressed (WPSMushit) but the speed tests are telling me otherwise.
There are landing page redirects between the http and https.
I have spoken to my hosting provider and they have given me a script to help with the compression / gzip of my website, I can share this with you if required.
I have the following plugins already installed but they don’t appear to be working as well as they used to.
Autoptimize
( Optimizes your website, concatenating the CSS and JavaScript code, and compressing it.)
BJ Lazy Load
(Lazy image loading makes your site load faster and saves bandwidth.)
WP Defer Loading
(Defer loading javascript for WordPress. Without any additional library. Just the way Google ask you to do it.)
WP deferred javaScript
(This plugin defer the loading of all javascripts added by the way of wp_enqueue_script(), using LABJS)
I also have the WPtouch Mobile Plugin - WPtouch Pro installed to generate a mobile responsive form of my site. This may be slowing my site down but at the moment it seems necessary to ensure my site is mobile friendly.
The speed tests on this were fine at the time of install but they seem horrendous now.
I’m not over the moon about all the plugins my site is using but I was wondering if you needed to add more? Updating is a bit of a nightmare a it is.
I have spoken to my hosting providers and they are running diagnostics on a 500 error that returned this morning after attempting to update a plugin. I’ll be able to hand you the error log once it has completed.
I may consider upgrading to a dedicated server/cloud if I can be sure my site is fit and ready and the whole thing would be worthwhile.
Sorry for the overload of information but I just want to lay everything out there first so you are in a better position to see if you are able to help.
Realistic expectations for your results would be appreciated. I just want to be able to use my site again and not get penalised in the rankings because of its lethargy.
Would love to know your thoughts,
Cheers,
Sam
