Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Ive not used this sort of service before, so hope you can help.
I have created a wordpress.com site and just need some help finishing it off.
its the login functionality im struggling with, ill try to explain what i need.
on my home page quick links is a login menu option, once clicked, id like user to enter their username and password (i will have provided, they dont set up) and it takes them to the same homepage but the quick link login option has been replaced with my 'library' option (already created). perhaps at the top of the page it could display (somehow) that 'XX' user is signed in (with a log out option that would revert the page back to the logged out experience. the log in box should be a dynamic box that pops up in the screen, not another page, there should be a close 'cross' in the corner should they not want to enter their details, and a line stating 'if you have forgotten your details, please get in touch using the contact us page' (contact us will be a hyperlink to my already created page).
its like i have two identical pages - the logged out page has the quick links log in and contact us, the logged in page has library and contact us.
i think what i need is quite basic, but im struggling.
hope that makes sense, happy to explain further if needs be.
all the best,
Darren Hodgson
