Description
Description of requirements/features: I am looking for an individual, so that means no agencies, to work with me on a variety or projects. I need someone for about 20 hours per week, maybe more, who fits the following criteria:
- Flexible working hours
- Good communication
- Fluent in HTML and CSS
- Full knowledge of WordPress and WooCommerce
- Lives in UK or US and speaks perfect English
- Has proof of previous work and qualifications
- Willing to be interviewed on Skype
If the individual has knowledge of the following, it is a major plus:
- Adobe Creative Cloud
- SEO and digital marketing
Willingness to work in our London office from time to time is a HUGE plus.
I've completely lost the plot with overseas developers - 100% of ones I've used have been a let down in every way. Quality, communication, honesty and professionalism have all been shocking, and I will never use them again. Therefore, I am ONLY looking for UK and US developers.
We have an office in London and LA, so developers near these locations will be loved!! Also, we are looking to open up in Birmingham, UK, so if you live near there, also let us know!
Please get in touch with the following details:
- Availability
- Qualifications/Experience
- Portfolio examples
- Hourly rate
We are looking for an individual who can grow in our company ideally, so we are looking to start the rate low, so we have a budget of £10 per hour for this position. However, we are also on the look out for experts, so if you have a lot more experience and think we would be wowed with your work, then please feel free to send an expert proposal over too, so we can use you from time to time.
So, when you start your proposal, please start with either JUNIOR or EXPERT, so we know what to look for. Also, we need to know you've actually read this job description! Apologies if it is long!

Hi
It's always a bit of a problem for a freelancer when someone has a job for say 20 hours per week. Does that mean that's just a ballpark figure and you understand that the freelancer may take on definite work from elsewhere before you confirm your next job, or alternatively are you wanting someone to reserve 20 hours a week for you, and they will be paid even if there wasn't enough work on any given week?
Regards
AdrianSabrina C.23 Sep 2016Hey Adrian. Thanks for your question. We have way more than 20 hours available and that's just what the contract we're issuing is. So, we need 4 hours a day, minimum. If the freelancer is good and wants to work more, we can offer more. As mentioned, we very much want the person to grow with us. This is for the junior role though. The expert role is ad hoc and no guarantees how many hours we will need them for
Adrian B.23 Sep 2016Hi Sabrina
Thanks for the reply. I'd only be interested in the expert work, so ad hoc suits me fine. Can you describe a typical job or two, and if it's the kind of work I regularly do I'll put in a proposal. I won't waste your time if you need specialists outside my fields of expertise.
Regards

Hi Sabrina,
Hope you're well.
I'm interested in the junior work however don't have much experience in WooCommerce. Is this absolutely necessary as I feel that I meet a lot of the other criteria?
Many Thanks,
DylanSabrina C.22 Sep 2016Hey Dylan. Thank you for your honesty. If you are open and honest about what your skills are, we can issue you work accordingly. We have plenty of WP jobs, which are not WooCommerce, so we can perhaps issue you one of those. Please do submit a proposal, clearly stating what your skills are and what work you would like to do.
Dylan W.22 Sep 2016Ok many thanks - will do!

I hope i don't sound rude but how can you expect quality, communication, honesty and professionalism £10 per hour. You get what you pay for Sabrina, this is how it works.
Let alone a US/UK based developer’s, £10 is even too less for an ESL developer (quality that is). Wish you best of luck finding one.
Sabrina C.22 Sep 2016Please can you actually read the job description - there are two positions. EXPERT and JUNIOR. We work with some of the top universities in London to bring in their graduates and undergrads on training schemes and the standard rate of pay there is £8 per hour. So, we are paying £10 per hour here to accommodate the commission. If you don't like it, then don't apply. I have found that actually our students, who are not even qualified have all produced much much better quality work than many of the people on here charging £40+ per hour.

Hey I am a reliable consultant based in Stockholm that you would find very usefull. Do you mind if i can apply?
Sabrina C.22 Sep 2016Hey Leon... if you think your English is good enough and you will be able to communicate with our developers clearly, then you can apply. We prefer UK and US because that's where our offices are, but please feel free to apply if you think you can handle the remote work and communication
Leon K.22 Sep 2016Thank you very much
