Description
Description of every page/module: The landing page should be sophisticated and simple with a spare elegant reactive design. The site should have a premium feel, with relevant content opening up based on user flow. The idea is that each user will feel the site specifically caters to their particular need as they will only be exposed to relevant information based on their input about user type, document type and other specifications. Some users will not have English as a first language, so the use of visual cues would enable them to navigate the site. I will be providing full translation into Chinese and Russian language, so the website will need to be multi-language.
I have given some drawings and included a wireframe to illustrate how I want the website to react to the user, presenting them with choices that lead them down a decision tree, culminating in a quote.
Description of requirements/features: The landing page needs therefore to be very clear with bold and simple images.
So my vision is that as the website interacts with the user, the content becomes fuller as it is then relevant to that user.
For example, not every user is a business user type, so they will not need to know that we offer a Business Brochure language service. As they progress through the site and make choices (for the user it will feel like the site is actually responding to them) the amount of detail will increase because it is relevant and useful to them.
Cell one on the pencil drawing DOC could be an example of the landing page.
The idea is that the landing page needs to instil confidence in the client, with the premium feel and aesthetics of a well established company.
A very rough breakdown of things that the site will need and may assist you in arriving at a rough costing:
1.Migration of Domain to either your server or a Wordpress server.
2.Graphic design within the website/ incorporation of logo/s
3.Design and testing of website.
4.Adaptive pricing for word count based services based on algorythm XL I have already provided.
5.A user area to track ongoing work
6. A fully functioning on site messaging system with multi format document upload and email ping (Similar to the PPH system.)This will enable clients to interact with editors.
7. Admin area with the limited functionality (E.G the ability to alter base prices.)
8.Tiered login privileges, so that freelance editors can access and work on documents.
9.Multi lingual facility for Chinese and Russian languages. (I will provide the translations.)
10. Payment facility Paypal plus a service like Stripe, which offers the ability to give discounts and allows clients to pay in stages 50% at start of job and 50% upon completion.
11.Fixed price services (see service table already sent to you.)
12The ability to create a bespoke quotation for more complex jobs that are not quotable through word count or fixed pricing.
Extra notes: Explanation of uploads:
The PDF attachment is a wireframe outline of the possible interface/user journey through the site. This was arrived at during the intital phase of discussions, so has changed slightly but still gives a good general idea.
Website doodle 2 is a simple graphic showing the way that content will build as users make choices through the site. In this way each user will be presented only with information that they have selected as being relevant to them. I do not like sites which display every single service to ever user.
Website interface doc illustrates the user journey in a similar way to the pdf. I am only able to upload 3 documents at this time so can send this later on through PPH messenger.
Competitor website and wordpress sites that I like gives the first URL of my main competitor for academic documents only. The competitor site has far too much information and forces customers to respond to it, rather than the website itself responding to customer choices. I want to compete for academic documents but at the more premium end of the market, not offering 24 turnarounds, as I feel this devalues the work. I have included some wordpress sites that I like, with a brief commentary on each.

Paul,
On account of the many proposals you have received so far, am checking to see if you have already shortlisted someone to work with or are still accepting proposalsPaul S.10 Apr 2017Yes, I am still actively considering proposals. Though I have already shortlisted some candidates, I have not entered into any detailed conversations and am hoping to SKYPE interview shortlisted candidates this week with a view to making a final decision early next week.
Robert B.11 Apr 2017The brief you have provided is quite clear and each of the positive aspects you have identified from your list of site can be adopted and customised for your particular needs. However, with the messaging service functionality you have requested, I feel the budget may not be sufficient provide what you want.
