Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
My client already has a website with a CMS, but is looking for a cost-effective revamp. As such, I have recommended Wordpress which they are now going with. To further save costs, they have purchased a Wordpress theme. What I need is as follows:
Part 1:
Install wordpress on a subdomain of my clients URL, so that we can work on the site, the client can see it, but their current site stays active. Also install the theme on the site. Once the job is complete, you will then need to install the finished site on the live domain.
Part 2:
The client is a photographer, and on his current website, what he is able to do through the CMS is this:
- Create a private gallery page for a particular client, which is only accessible via password.
- Once the client logs in to their private gallery via password, they see thumbnails of all the images he has taken for them. They can click these thumbnails and enlarge the image etc, but this functionality is already built into the theme.
- underneath each image is a checkbox. This checkbox is for the client to indicate whether they want this picture produced (printed) or not. So they scroll through all their images, checking the ones that they want.
- there is a counter in the bottom corner, showing how many images have been selected (handy for the client as they typically purchase packages i.e 20 images for £100 - so they know how many they have selected).
- once they have selected the images they want, under the counter is a 'submit your selection' button, which then emails the picture ID's to a certain email address (the photographers), letting him know which ones they want.
- it also saves the current 'state' of the gallery as well - so if the client logs in again, they can still see which images they have selected.
Once I have chosen a developer to work with, I can show you the site as it is at the moment so you can get a clearer picture.
If you have any further questions, let me know.
