Description

Experience Level: Intermediate
Hi there,

I am working on a business start-up called Good Life Guys (www.goodlifeguys.com), which will start out as a blog devoted to a variety of quality things. So far, I have used the Squarespace 'Avenue' template, with a little extra CSS code I picked up along the way.

I would like to be able to keep our basic template looking roughly the same as it currently appears on our Home page, but hire a pro like yourself to help us make the actual blog posts fully customisable. The options offered by the Avenue template are limited when it comes to playing with the format of blog posts. Specifically, we'd like to be able to emulate the www.brainpickings.org website because it's very pleasant to read and uses a variety of visual techniques to break up the text of a post. This means we would like to have:

- each post appearing as though it's on its own individual (coloured) canvas, with a little gap between the end of one post's canvas and the start of the next post below, rather than everything looking like it's on a single, white canvas background;
- full freedom to position pictures in the position and size we wish, anywhere in a post;
- a greater choice of fonts, so we can use any font style and font colour we please, any time;
- the cool yellow speech marks thing from the brainpickings.org site (though we would probably use dark green) every time we add a quote of some kind;

We'd also like a left sidebar (dark green background, and linking to related content) and a right sidebar (transparent and containing practical info/newsletter sign-up etc) on the Home page (and possibly on the other pages too). Currently, we can only have one sidebar, and only on the Home page, because that's all the Squarespace template offers.

If you feel this would be of interest and know how to achieve the above, we'd love to hear back from you with a quote.

Best regards
Marc Allen
