Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I own two WordPress sites which use the Thesis 1.8.x theme. Updates on the theme have long since ended, but I really don't have the desire or bandwidth to change themes right now, especially since I built both my sites myself within the Thesis 1.8.x framework.
Anyway, this wasn't an issue until around the first of the year, when a routine update to my web hosting account (upgrading the PHP version from 5.6 to 7.2) caused all the posts on my sites to display as WSOD (white screens of death). Notably, the homepage and all other pages displayed just fine; when I reverted to PHP 5.6, the sites began working again as expected.
Anyway, what I need is for you to figure our specifically what causes my sites not to work with PHP 7.2 and fix that.
(A side note you might find interesting is that I considered switching to the Genesis Theme, and actually built a skeleton for a third site I'm planning using it. Interestingly, when I attempted to switch this site to PHP 7.2., the entire thing went dark, showing a 503 error on every page. So perhaps my issue is not just Thesis—I'm honestly stumped!)
Please let me know if you can help!
