General information for the website: Travel & Culture Marketplace
Kind of development: New website from scratch
Description of requirements/features: My client is a travel, culture and marketplace for unique experience tours. They are looking to re-develop their existing site to meet a change in revenue streams and business direction.
Features of the new site will need to include:
• Responsive site including mobile/tablet friendly version.
• Filtering and searching of experiences and articles (supplied by contributors).
• Multiple filters of posts and experiences throughout the site (ie; most popular, most recent, highest rating.. etc).
• Allow tour providers to sign up and make payment to advertise travel packages.
• Allow tour providers to log in and list travel packages dependent upon their paid membership.
• Allow users to sign up and search, save and rate travel packages (bookings to take place on a 3rd party website).
• Allow users to request 'contributor' status to submit articles for the site (moderation required prior to acceptance).
• Contributors able to create various post types including Video reviews and photo essays for submission to admin.
• Facebook and registered user comments integrated for each article.
• Publicly viewable profiles for contributors and tour providers with private message contact enabled.
• JQuery features throughout the site.
• Features likely to be added/edited prior to development commencement.
All front end page designs will be supplied in psd format along with documentation outlining specific requirements for elements within each page. This includes designs and documentation for the mobile version of the site.
Full access to existing site will be provided to aid development of new site.
CMS and Admin requirements: Admin requirements:
• Site be developed on the WordPress framework but client is open to suggestions if there is a more appropriate CMS.
• Requests for contributor status to be submitted to admin for approval.
• Ability to review submitted articles prior to approval.
• Ability to contact contributors and commission articles.
• Features likely to be added/edited prior to development commencement.
• Transfer of content from existing site to new site prior to launch.
