Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
My website has been up and running for a while now, and I would like to make a few changes. The guy who original programmed it is no longer available. You can see the site at:
http://www.brucedenny.com
We decided to make some last minute adjustments to the user interface which somewhat changed the original concept because of the iPad. I'd like to consider some revisions to the way the gallery works.
Forgetting the iPad for a moment, I would like to:
1. Include the other gallery categories at the top of the page when a gallery is selected, so that you can move more easily between galleries.
2. Play the images in a "slideshow" which the user can switch off if they prefer to select the images manually.
3. In manual mode, allow the user to click through the images with arrows, in addition to being able to select a thumbnail.
If a user is using an iPad, it is much more intuitive to be able to scroll through images with a swipe. I think there are facilities in java script now to take advantage of a touch sensitive interface? It would be nice to include them where possible if we can. Eg. a gallery could go into full screen mode, images could fit the orientation of the screen and be scrolled through with a swipe.
If someone can help me with this, I would be very happy to hear from you.
