Human Appeal is a faith-based charity that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programs and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide.
We are currently recruiting for a Web Designer to join Human Appeal’s integral Marketing and Communications department at the charity’s Head Office in Cheadle, Greater Manchester.
The Role:
• Salary of £18,275 - £23,112 per annum, depending on experience
• Supporting the design, development, layout and coding of the Human Appeal website
• Creating an engaging website to attract, retain and inspire current and potential donors and maximise donations on an international scale
• Designing and building bespoke landing pages, wire frames, page designs, HTML5 Google display banners, social media advertising banners, e-marketing emails & developing HA email platform
• Supporting the delivery of the Digital Global Marketing strategy
• Providing technical support for the Email, Digital Marketing, and Regional Office functions
The Ideal Candidate:
• Educated to Degree level in IT, Computer Programming or a related discipline
• Highly proficient in building websites and emails using HTML, CSS, and jQuery and knowledge of writing extended CSS coding languages such as LESS/CSS or SASS
• Experience of building responsive websites and using responsive frameworks such as Bootstrap
• In-depth knowledge of current coding techniques and best practices
• Proficient with Adobe suite
• Analytical, inquisitive, skilled with problem solving, creative, innovative, adaptable & great at multi-tasking and working in a team
• Highly organised and accustomed to working under pressure to achieve tight deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Passionate about international development work and humanitarian aid
• Results focused, with an ability to plan and deliver against objectives
• Confident in dealing with a range of stakeholders
