About the Job
The Oxbridge Research Group (TORG) is looking for an experienced Web Developer to assist with the development of a new project. You will be working as part of a team consisting of 3 other developers and a graphic designer.
To succeed in this role, you will need to be able to rapidly produce engaging and interactive PHP-based pages, to the highest quality and with the utmost attention to detail. Deadlines for this project will be extremely tight, and exceptional time management and organisation capabilities are a must.
This could be the perfect opportunity for a competent and enthusiastic web developer, looking to build on his/her professional experience, with the possibility of a full-time job offer at the end of the contract period.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)
Construct dynamic web pages within a PHP/MySQL framework, making use of JavaScript to offer intuitive interactivity and user control.
Produce pixel-perfect, cross-browser XHTML/CSS layouts. This includes liaising with our graphic designer to translate the site design to the most workable code.
Collaborate with the rest of the team to provide the best creative solutions to the project brief.
Requirements
- Proven ability to build dynamic PHP-based web solutions.
- Solid understanding of the jQuery JavaScript library.
- Ability to produce clean, efficient XHTML and CSS layouts.
- Perfectionism essential; someone who takes pride in the standard of their work.
- Ability to work with graphics and image-editing programs, and a knowledge of optimising graphics for the web.
- Strong interest in the Internet, web trends and web development in general.
- Enthusiasm, creativity and a desire to work with an innovative team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and shift gears quickly.
- Ability to streamline production processes, prioritise tasks and report back on status of ongoing production activities.
- Superior written English.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Honesty and integrity.
Desirables
- Working knowledge of Dreamweaver, Fireworks and/or PhotoShop.
- Flash development (SWiSHmax or Adobe Flash) a bonus.
Contract Term
To start immediately, with contract lasting around 4-5 weeks.
