Description
Experience Level: Expert
If you are interested in this project, please come back to me by end of Monday 12th with an estimate?
The clients current website and dev site (internally designed) are below.
https://dev.recre8.co.uk
https://lifestyledirect.co.uk
This should give you an idea about what the client sells and who to. It should also indicate the volume of web content/pages required.
There’s the front end/shop and behind that, when the user engages, we have an application process.
The users application process is already built - this project is therefore just for the front end and will simply need to patch to the existing application process as described below.
APPLICATION PROCESS TO PATCH INTO
You will have to redirect to a URL with a query string embedded into it URL redirect, with one of more product ID’s and the order quantity for each product. Example:
https://secureapplicationform.co.uk/?product=12821&qty=1&product=12822&qty=1
Note, the URL in has not yet been pointed to the server that the development will take place on.
So all you will need to do is pass a product ID and quantity in the URL.
You will need to to ensure that if the user presses the back button or returns to the site, and the cart contents are still stored for that visitor, that they allow the visitor to change the contents of the cart and re-submit.
Finally the user must not be able to create an account in the online shop, their account will be set up on our system. The online shop must allow them to create an account and log in to it, because there will be no relevant information there and we do not want any customer data stored anywhere other than our secure server for GDPR compliance.
WEB DESIGN WISH LIST
The contract in question will involve creating a new website to replace those above. The features that we need that the current sites do not deliver;
User experience this is perhaps the most important aspect users land on the site typically from an advert, they are looking for a rental TV the website is the shop and needs to quickly and smoothly capture their trust and drive them towards ACTION, wherever they are on the site
Aesthetics i.e. nested nav looks better than dropdown. You will have creative license to make the site look 'better'
Gaining ‘stickiness’ with those who do not commit there and then i.e. exit pop ups collecting data/ push towards social engagement etc
Mobile friendliness the majority of our users will be on mobile
Natural SEO this contract refers only to building the site around known topics/keyphrases, not the ongoing activities involved in SEO
Be GDPR and FCA compliant
Provide the client with full web editing control via CMS (i.e. wordpress or other of your recommendation)
Chat and trust pilot (or alt) plugin/API
Optional extras;
Create 3 or 4 dedicated landing pages for campaigns (or the ability to create these ourselves). Our customers have different sales pulls so we need to serve them with content relevant to the ads they were receptive to i.e. price based landing page, product features based landing page, trust based landing page
Develop content this will be a joint effort between myself and the winning agency. The brand is new and therefore has not yet coined its positioning as the ‘go to’ for ‘smarter management of the home’. The content on the web pages (fixed content) needs to be rewritten to promote more than just the products and also fit with the typical buyers tone of voice (we have a persona breakdowns for our buyers)
LOGO
In addition to this, the client is also looking to explore a new trading name and logo. They feel it needs to sound more fresh, inventive, unprescedented, trail blazing ….whilst also eluding to what the brand offers. This will ultimately include lots of appliances, not just TVs.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO DELIVER THIS PROJECT
Please provide us with an estimate by end of day Tuesday 13th.
This should be broken down into deliverables where possible.
Please indicate what platform the website will be built in.
The development timeline is 6-8 weeks.
