Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
1. Import RSS feed
2. Import the full articles that the RSS feed leads to (for example if the RSS feed was a blog, the full text of each day’s blog entry).
3. Collate following information in respect of each article:
a. RSS Feed Name
b. Article Title
c. Time published
d. Date published
e. Body text from article
4. Analyse text to locate specific words from two categories. (e.g. CAT 1 - colours • then there will be a colours category where I will be able to list the colours I am interested in; CAT 2 • animals • then I can list the specific animals I am interested in)
5. Present the data in a format that’s easy to understand listing:
a. RSS Feed Name
b. Article Title
c. Date Published
d. Time Published
e. CAT 1 results (e.g. any words found in the body text from CAT 1)
f. CAT 2 results (e.g. any words found in the body text from CAT 2)
I do not have a specific program in mind so please suggest whatever you think will make it easiest for me to analyse the data.
I have Microsoft Access, Excel, Word (all 2007 versions).
