Description

Experience Level: Intermediate
Industry: Business
Kind of design: Custom website
Ideas for the visual style: Company website
Extra notes: We are a marketing agency from Australia. Aside of our promotional services, we offer branding and web design. Either a redesign or a design from scratch, depending on our client's needs.

We are looking for a web designer to join our ranks. We have a web developer (designer + programmer) currently working with us, but we would like to have a new designer as the number of projects we are managing is quickly rising. Ideally, we would like to have our developer focus more on the development process and have a designer play around with the design.

Our team is created on a notion of collaboration between people, each great at their own area of business. Whether the realistic part of this is true or not, our goal is to have people collaborate on a project doing their own line of work, with a focus on providing a great end result.

As such, you would be working closely with a project manager and a copywriter.

What we would like to have is a designer comfortable with handling the UX part of the project as well. UX/UI developers are a fancy term for something that designers of the past just did on a regular basis, but we would like to focus on people that can provide results in these areas. That can collaborate with a copywriter in producing a website which has a great visual aspect backed up with great content, both looked from a UX side.

Requirements:
- passionate about design in general
- worked in a development team - or at least had a cooperation with developers and copywriters in the past
- dilligent about design - our goal is to provide our clients with a design they will love. Clients can be subjective, but we know when a design is good.
- willing to state their mind - a bad design can be the result of a bad brief or a difficult client. We want to eliminate both, and provide only great designs. In order to do that, our designer should state his mind if something is missing from our end (or the clients) in order for him to deliver the design.
- not afraid to ask questions - we want a designer who will challenge us and the client's needs. One who will ask questions that will help him do his part of the work.
- a team player - as described before, you'll have to work with a team of people in order to provide the results. As our first team request, add this line to the beginning of your cover letter - "I don't want to sit on the bench, I want to get on the field and help my team score!"
- responsive - the position will be part-time at start, with the focus on having a full-time one. On the part-time side of things, we need you to be responsive in a realistic manner
