Description
Experience Level: Expert
Our website is being administrated and hosted by our web master who is a private party. Due to several conflicts between the web master and the SEO team. We have decided to transfer the hosting services to Go-daddy.
In order to facilitate the transition, a deluxe hosting package was purchased via Go-daddy. However, our web master suggested to upgrade to a more complex solution such us a VPS - self-managed - ("to ensure a smoother transition").
I strongly feel sabotaged by our web master. He seems very controlling of our website, I believe that he does not want to lose our monthly business, he seems to spend so much time "trouble shooting" to then bill us hourly. After requesting full FTP access a threatening response in which he basically indicated that all the SEO word done will be potentially lost (see complete response below).
I AM LOOKING FOR A KNOWLEDGEABLE AND NEUTRAL PARTY WHO CAN ACCESS THE SITUATION AND PROVIDE ME WITH ADVICE. THIS SITUATION WILL NOT LEAD INTO OTHER BUSINESS. AGAIN, I AM LOOKING TO SEE WHO IS THE PERSON TO RELAY UPON, AND WHAT EXACTLY ARE THE CAVEATS TO THIS ORDEAL.

Here is a synopsis concerning the transfer process concerning the immediate and prospective hurdles to come on the GoDaddy server.
The website's integrated SEO programming or the SEO software is proving a challenge the custom concerning URL link structure for the SEO. This may hinder or completely prohibit the transfer.
Meaning there are no guarantees for the success of a clean transfer.
The website URL we are working with is an IP address, which is causing the URL permalinks on the site to be " plain " , as opposed to " custom ". Which in turn is causing " blank page " and 404 issues on the website hosted at GoDaddy.
We have to work from an IP address on GoDaddy's sever, so that the other site does not go down. But in order to get the SEO software (Yoast and AMP) to not produce "blank page" errors the permalinks have to be "custom".
On Thursday, July 12th, an additional 5 hours was spent working around or researching this issue with the URL' s and plan-of-action.
Again, there are no guarantees that the transfer will be a success, AND you also need to consider the risk to all the SEO work that was invested into the site. The SEO might have to be re-built by the SEO specialists.
Just wanted to inform you of the potential risks or lack of guarantee concerning your transfer request.
As a courtesy, we are not billing for the additional 5 hours spent, but moving forward hourly charges will apply.
You could ask GoDaddy to assist you the rest of the way, but we seriously doubt they will be of much help.
Since what you need done is very likely out of the scope of their service or skillset.
It is also very possible that after you point the domain name to the GoDaddy server that the URL issues will cease, but again, there is no guarantee, AND it is also at the risk of your other existing site being completely down, AND having to RE-build your SEO.
