Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I maintain www.shinycapstar.com, a website that I run as the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards main portal of Information (the Guards are the ones who stand outside Buckingham Palace with the big furry hats), I am also a serving Coldstreamer (member of the Coldstream Guards).
Firstly, although the Coldstream Guards are the OLDEST Regiment in Continuous Service in the British Army, the site is ran, maintained, and funded by me %u2013 no one else (I only say this to ensure no one thinks that I have a never ending pocket).
I am in the middle of a much needed site re-design as the popularity of the site is growing from strength to strength, that however is not the task in hand.
This project is to design a unique flash game, that users can play and at the end it gives the player the opportunity to click a link for more info on the Coldstream Guards or even joining the Coldstream Guards (these will be links to pages that I will design).
The game itself will be discussed, but as an idea it should be fun, but not too easy to keep the sticky (come back appeal) feel to it, I am open to suggestions from those with experience.
If popular, and I am sure it will be as no one in the British Army has an individual game like this at present, it could be part of many games that will feature a Coldstream Character%u2019s career in the Coldstream Guards. The first game will see him in his basic training, needing to complete many tasks, before the passing out parade.
Other games will follow life in Battalion from specialised weapons to Trooping the Colour.
So this is the project;
Design a Flash Game with different stages, with a %u2018Coldstream Character%u2019.
As an added bonus, if a high score table could be added that would be great.
Obviously, I am quoting this project as %u2018under £100%u2019 as I fund the site myself and have no idea how much these things cost. If the cost can be kept low, and an advert for the designer at the end of the game appearing that is no problem, plus the opportunity to create more games after the inevitable success of this will no doubt follow.
