Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
We are a small law firm looking to increase its productivity. We're looking to move into the \"digital age\", capturing our clients' data online and then transferring it between applications so as to minimise data input by fee earners. Please see below for a short brief - although I have a certain degree of self-taught knowledge in back and front-end programming I'm not an expert (that's why we're coming to you!) and will need to explain these issues over Skype / telephone.
Applications that we use
Document automation: Hotdocs
Case management software: Time Matters and PC Law
Email: Outlook 2007 and 2010
Other: Adobe Professional 9 and Dragon Naturally Speaking
Skills needed
Back-end programming: PHP, MySQL, XML
Possible front-end programming in the future - we're considering establishing new websites.
Data capture
Use of PHP forms to capture data from clients online.
Establishing database
We would like for a MySWL database to be established on a remote server, where data on clients would be recorded. This database would then be accessed by the applications that the law firm uses to construct its case files.
Data input and transfer
This primarily, is to be achieved by the utilisation of internet-based forms and the transfer of data between applications so that data input is minimised.
Our principal document automation software is Hotdocs, which saves its data as XML files. What we therefore need is someone to create an XSLT file so that data stored on the database can be used to populate the fields in the XML file.
We use Time Matters and PC Law for our case management software and client billing. Ideally, therefore, any relevant data stored on the database would also populate the required fields in these two programmes.
Client interaction
We want to be able to document our workflow and interact with our clients online, with the ability to schedule phone calls and meetings and post up documents sent and received. We currently don't have an online \"membership site\" but are looking to integrate the \"Wishlist\" membership plugin into our established and planned websites.
Thank you for your time taken to read this,
Regards,
