Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I need some pieces of ASP coding. I want to arrive at the following situation. We will have a web page (conventional html) which contains a number of geographic links to towns in the UK. When a person clicks on one of those links he will see a page containing information about services provided by the company for which I am working. In every case the page will be almost identical. The only difference will be the geographic details for that location.
So the page would be called by clicking the link and the system would complete and fill various gaps on the page with the specific geographic information relating to that link and contained within the code.
I am assuming that ASP is best for this job.
Let's imaging that the code was something like
{blah, blah, blah
Chester; Chester villages; areas around Chester
blah, blah, blah}
and the source page (which I will do) contains a series of links including "Chester". A user clicks on the Chester link and gets a page which (before the system populates the page) looks something like
WE do wonderful things for people in XXX and for the people in YYY and also for all the people in ZZZ. WE have done these wonderful things for many years and we will continue to do these things.
Don't Forget! For all these expert services in XXX ring 01234 567890
ALL THE ABOVE TEXT IS PURELY FOR EXAMPLE PURPOSES.
The finished text for the web page will be written and supplied by me. I merely need that text to include the placeholders into which the system and the ASP script will drop the location information as in the {Blah, Blah, Blah} example above.
In terms of those code snippets I would propose to deliver you with the 5/6 pieces of geographic information which will ultimately be processed onto the page. I would then want that complete piece of code provided so that I can replicate it (after changing the details, of course) for all the other UK locations that we propose to feature.
Finally I would provide you with the text for the destination page with spaces indicated as to where that location information will appear.
