Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the website: W3C validate
Description of every page/module: This is a simple job that requires certain diligence, skill and absolute squeaky detail .
We have a spring clean of our website and we need a number of pages to be W3C validated and compliant.
Most of the errors are as a result of very old code re becoming outdated
We will send you the files and you will work on them locally
We would like to work through them today, we will use the Skype text messaging service to keep in touch while you work.
So that I am on hand to address any questions, immediately and we can crack on and get this done.
The average page that requires attention consists of
1. Host index.php file
2. Several includes (html pages)
3. CSS files
4. Links to JS scripts
all make up the whole page
the average number of errors is 40 per page
Description of requirements/features: Attached is a report on the typical errors, and indeed is the first page that needs the 'love'
You can see that some will take a nano second to correct, others slightly longer but it is all very straight forward AND as we work though the pages you will find you will be correcting the same errors in different pages.
E.G
error Line 331, Column 313: required attribute "alt" not specified
error Line 32, Column 58: there is no attribute "target"
error Line 188, Column 326: there is no attribute "height"
We will pay 10 cents per error
So the first page has 41 errors and is worth $4.10
Obviously the more pages you do the quicker you will become and you'll be correcting the same errors
Protocols
Alt tags must reflect page content and be SEO sensitive
old attribute "target_new" must still open a new page
I'm listing the job at $50 but we can build on that, i.e there are more than 500 errors. more than 12 pages to be audited and corrected
Extra notes: PITCH
Please include links to web pages that you designed and coded
Obviously this and other coding issues and needs are ongoing we are looking to build long term association
