Description
Experience Level: Entry
Estimated project duration: less than 1 week
Hi,
I have a Drupal 8 website and I would like to create a new module or use a contributed one (Active Module only) to add a Google map into my website where a registered user will be asked to add a "Pickup Location" and a "Destination Location" for our driver to pickup his package from "Pickup Location" and deliver it to the "Destination Location" .
What I need to be done ?
1) The user will be presented with two text boxes, a "Pickup Location" text box and a "Destination Location" text box.
2) Once the user start typing the location name, a list of suggestion must be shown to user to choose from. (Or the user can click on a button located on the right of the "Pickup Location" text box in order to automatically retrieve and set his/her current location)
3) Once the "Pickup Location" text box and the "Destination Location" text box are both filled in with real location names, an ajax request will load a Google map below the text boxes.
4) In this map. Both locations must be visible to the user and the route between Point A & Point B will be highlighted in blue color.
5) Under the map or on top of it. Information about:
_ The distance to be traveled by car between Point A & Point B must be shown to the user.
_ The estimated Time to go from Point A to Point B based on traffic in that area must also be shown to the user.
(Same idea as the "Maps" android application works)
_ A button titled "Next" at the bottom of the page.
6) You, as a programmer, must extract the "name of the country" from both the "Pickup Location" and the "Destination Location".
7) When the user will click on "Next" button, he will be redirected to a specific url something like:
"www.domainname.com/tranferinfo/[total-distance]/[total-time]/[pickup-country-name]/[destination-country-name]/[pickup-location-name]/[destination-location-name]"
8) The user can track the real-time movement of the vehicle on the map using the phone built-in GPS of the driver who is driving the package to the user. (I believe this feature cannot be implemented without having a custom app installed on the driver's smart phone )
The below images will explain it all !
Or
The "Request a ride" option at uber.com will explain it better.
Thank you,
