Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the website: Present a graph (limeline) of rental bookings from a postgres db
Database management system (DBMS): PostgreSQL
Description of requirements/features: Objective
Provide two web pages that show rental bookings for various items of equipment (Machines).
The desired output is a time line graph
With one line for each item of equipment and the name of the customer on the ‘Bar’
Technical
It is to use Google Charts - https://developers.google.com/chart/interactive/docs/gallery/timeline#overview
Or any other free charting code.
The webserver is NginX running on Ubuntu. A test server will be provided. There is a running Odoo ERP system which must continue to function. The bidder will be responsible for any required changes to the NginX configuration.
The user must log into the pages to prevent public access. The pages must refresh every 3 mins without further user interaction.
The database is PostgreSQL. There is a ‘view’ which has all the necessary the data already prepared into it. An extract of the data is available.
A Python interpreter is installed on the server. No other active page language is currently installed. Solutions using mono/asp will are slightly preferred but bids may suggest any active page technologies. The bidder will be responsible for installing and configuring any packages required.
Format of the displayed data
One page should display rentals from one depot and the second page rentals from the other depot.
Normally a period of 3 weeks should show – last week and the next two weeks. Buttons should allow the user to page (or scroll) forward or backward in time.
The lines should be sequenced by Machine Type. The row headers should show the machine type and the individual ‘Name’ of the machine.
The bars should show the name of the customer and the first line of the note field.
The colours of the ‘Bars’ should change according to the status of the rental (Quotation, confirmed, invoiced etc)
The pages will normally be displayed on 1080p monitors (1920px wide by 1080px high) and should make good use of the size.
