I am looking for a digital photographer who can visit the Barclays Group Archive in Manchester on my behalf and take pictures of the full contents of the accounting ledgers of several eighteenth-century British banks stored there. The images need to be of high quality, good enough that I can use them to transcribe the contents into an Excel spreadsheet at my end. The ledgers in question are very large. A common page size is 24" high by 18" wide, meaning the image needs to capture an area of 24"x 36" for the usual shot of two pages side-by-side. And a typical ledger has 300 to 400 folios, meaning that a complete record of one ledger would require some 150 to 200 images. So the project will work best for someone who has a digital camera and a large overhead frame on which to mount it. There could be days and days of work involved, depending on how many of the ledgers stored in that archive contain information that will be useful to me. I'm hoping for someone who lives in the Manchester area, to keep to a minimum any travel and accommodation costs for which I must pay.
