Description
Experience Level: Expert
Hello! We are The Avid Seamstress, a sewing pattern brand based in London. We are looking for someone to produce pattern adjustment tutorials based on our sewing pattern range.
We are looking for someone that really knows their stuff as we would expect the tutorials to be 100% technically correct. The projects would range from small / full bust tutorials, adjusting a raglan neckline, changing a coat lining etc - all based on our sewing patterns. They would need to be able to work with our pattern images to create the tutorials.
This person will need to be able to produce the entire tutorial including drawing up the step by step images (on illustrator or computer graphic app) plus write the blog content. We would need the images sent to us as separate jpegs and the content in Word which we will then recreate on our blog.
This work can be done online but we would the option to meet up occasionally when discussing projects that are more complicated. It is imperative that this person can then travel to Enfield, North London.
We will be sending at least one - two tutorials per month and have a few that we are keen to get started on. Some are quick and easy and others are more complicated. We would agree on an hourly rate for projects.
It's important that the person interested is able to do this work on a regular basis and is good with working to timelines.
These tutorials are extremely important to our brand and have to be 100% correct. This is a very exciting time for our business as it is growing and gaining a lot of social media and sewing community interest. Whilst we can't take someone on full time we are looking for someone that is interested in our brand.
Please note, we already have a pattern cutter so aren't looking for someone to produce our sewing patterns but rather to then offer our customers tutorials on how to make adjustments to get the perfect fit for them. A lot of our customers are beginners and need support on how to make adjustments – we want to guide them through each step. We have a strong brand look and feel so this person would need to compliment it.
If you are interested please only apply if you:
* are based in London
* are able to occasionally meet (this is not imperative but you must be based in London)
* can create the images in Indesign or Illustrator (you should own this on your computer)
* able to produce well-drawn images and write good content that explains each step in depth that is technically correct and can be understood by an amateur seamstress.
* can commit to creating these on a regular basis
* can sew and understand the techniques for putting garments together
We are excited for this next phase in our business and this person will be key in the success of this next phase.
We would expect to see an example of your work and could possibly ask you to create a tutorial so that we can see how your writing skills are.
