Hello! :)
I am looking for a Japanese translator who can translate a list of dog training commands for me, with one small caveat. The commands need to be 2 or 3 syllables at maximum, so I am looking for a little bit of creative brainstorming from a native speaker! :)
For example, if "Chotto Mate" (4 syllables) means "Please wait." I would be looking for the 2-syllable equivalent that means essentially the same thing - such as simply "Mate."
The translations do not have to be exact. If there is no 2-3 syllable word for "stand," perhaps there is a similar word that gets the same message across, like "rise," or "get up." (this is where the creative brainstorming would come in ;) )
I only need one word per command, but I have provided some additional words for inspiration...
The commands I would like to have translated are as follows:
-SIT
-DOWN / LIE DOWN
-STAY / WAIT
-HEEL (Means "stay by my side")
-STAND
-BRING / FETCH / RETRIEVE
-OUT / LET GO / DROP IT
-KENNEL (Means "go into your kennel/cage/box")
-TRACK / SEARCH / FIND
-BITE / ATTACK / CHASE
-GUARD / PROTECT
-SPEAK / BARK
-LEAVE IT / DON'T TOUCH
-JUMP / LEAP / OVER
-GO AHEAD / GO ON (Means "walk ahead of me/keep going")
-GOOD / GOOD DOG (For this command I am looking for positive Japanese words that can be said to a dog to let him know things are going okay - for example, "Good boy" "Good girl" "Good job" "Nice" etc.)
-NO / BAD DOG (For this command, I am looking for negative Japanese words that can be said to a dog to let him know he's done something wrong, for example, "Bad dog," "No," "Stop that.")
I am a native English speaker, but I have taken Japanese classes and can speak and read a little. If translations could be provided in hiragana or romaji that would be ideal.
Thank you!
Jacqueline
PS: Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions. :)
