Description
Experience Level: Expert
Hi, I'm looking for some help translating into English (or maybe just summarising in simpler French) some old & confidential handwritten French legal documents (late 19th and early 20th century), e.g. dowry documents and wills for a genealogical research project. I'd welcome any proposals but only from native French speakers who are familiar with historic formal/legal documents. I read French but this is beyond my ability - the handwriting is often spidery/difficult and the content is dense. I can send some examples but, because of confidentiality, I'd like to understand first from applicants a) how you would charge for it (per word / per page / per hour), b) what experience you have with this kind of thing, i.e. deciphering old handwritten texts and c) your commitment to confidentiality. In terms of volume, it's at least 300 pages but I'll prioritise based on the rates offered. Thanks, Dave
Dave B.
