**Specification for prototype**

We require a proof of concept / working prototype for a music related aggregation site.

Below is an initial specification of our requirements – further details will be provided to the chosen developer.

Intuition and creative discretion will be encouraged and welcomed – we are looking to identify the technical challenges and further develop the project brief based upon the initial results of this first PoC assignment.

We expect clear communication from the chosen developer on the options, challenges and limitations presented when aggregating content from a variety of disparate sources, e.g.

· What content is returned using default API calls?

· What additional content could be returned using more specific queries?

· What in-widget activity can be tracked directly on the aggregation site and what can only be tracked on the source content provider site?


**Initial web site**

Page 1:

· Just a simple search dialog box with a single ‘Go’ button just to the right of the search text entry box



Page 2

· Top-bar...

o Left aligned: space for logo

o Center aligned: search term pre-populated in a search box

o Right aligned: space for user profile box.

· Main section, below Top-bar:

· Aggregation of content returned from specific sites based on the original search term (default text of ‘No content’ if no content returned)

Bottom Row: Myspace, NME.com, Homepage


· Future iterations will specify different content providers based upon previous user activity and geographical preferences / licensing restrictions - THIS IS NOT REQUIRED IN THE FIRST VERSION.
