Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the business: We sell products through wholesalers and also direct to the public
Description of requirements/functionality: We receive 4 reports from our ERP system. Together with some Excel databases this should allow us to produce financial reporting.
ERP reports:
1. Cat Stat Report (CSV file): This includes sales DEMAND by supplier (Media Code) and SKU (Catalogue Code)
It does not include sales values or cost prices
2. Cat Stat Report Confirmed (CSV file): This includes orders SHIPPED by supplier (Media Code) and SKU (Catalogue Code)
It does not include sales values or cost prices
3. DFLT_2011 (TXT file): This includes sales DEMAND by supplier (Media Code) and SKU (Catalogue Code)
It includes Sales Value and Cost Prices but these may not be reliable
It excludes Postage charges
4. DFLT_2012 (TXT file): This is the Media Orders report
Is shows Sales Demand ex Vat inc Postage
In Excel, we will maintain the following databases:
1. Trade Prices
2. Cost Prices
3. Supplier Type This includes a Flag 'Invoicing'. If Yes, then an invoice needs to be created.
If No, Sales Value ex VAT inc Postage should be taken from ERP
The outputs needed are:
1. Invoicing for each invoicing Supplier. Always based on Orders Shipped
2. Sales Report by Supplier - Choose from Demand or Orders Shipped
3. Sales Report by Product - Choose from Demand or Orders Shipped
Specific technologies required: Microsoft Excel
OS requirements: Windows
Extra notes: I have no fixed views on how this would work best, just that I anticipate it will need some Excel macros to be created. In your proposal please explain how you expect it to work.

Hey,
We would like to schedule a Skype call or chat meeting to brainstorm on the deliverable as we believe in consultative selling and not just agreeing to the scope to get a project. I am sure we have some relevant ideas to be shared in order to give your business an edge over the others operating in the same vertical.
Look forward to your reply.
Thanks & Regards,
Mukesh. -
Hi Brian,
Can you tell us which ERP System you are using?
There are reporting options directly in ERP systems which can meet your requirements.
Regards,
Amit
Brian O.10 Aug 2016Hi Amit, we use an old system called Mailbrain which has no API or similar interface.
