Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: 1 - 2 weeks
- IDEA:
Using Arduino to open/close blast gates (with servos connected to 16ch shield) and turning on/off dust collection with push button near each tool and indicator LEDs.
- Application:
8 blast gates and one dust collection currently controlled by LR2244 remote starter (link below).
- Scenario:
While all gates are closed, dust collection turned off and all LEDs turned red:
1- When pressing tool #1 push button the blast gate for the tool opens and the dust collection turned on with green LED on.
2- When pressings the same button again the dust collection turned off first THEN the blast gate closes after about 5 seconds delay with green LED turns off and the red LED turns on.
3- When pressing tool #2 button while tool #1 blast gate is open and the dust collection is on, the blast gate for this tool (#2) opens first THEN tool #1 gate closes with turning off/on indicator LEDs for both tools (green=open and red=close).

- My project is similar to Bob setup but with adding a trigger for the dust collection and a button for each gate instead of the keypad, with using Arduino servo shield.

- And this one also but with Arduino servo shield and its the almost what I need but with buttons instead of voltage sensors.
The current dust collection remote starter:

Manual:

*Remarks:
- The code should allow to set the desired angles for each servo.
- The dust collection remote starter is using a contactor and 2ch wireless relay, after testing I found that the 1st channel which connected to turn the contactor on is using Normally Open pins and by pressing ON from the remote it just closes and opens again, and the 2nd channel which turns off the contactor is using Normally Close pins and it opens and closes again when pressing OFF from the remote. I mention that because I have no experience with such relays and contactors, I used to work with normal relays which stays open/close when you apply certain voltage.
Thank You.
