Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I have many items that I am looking for on an antiques and collectables website. I have a file with all the items that I am looking for which will change from week to week as I add more items or delete others. I have scraped items from the antique and collectables site and will do so each week (file 2 in the attached).
I need an application that will search for items in the second file (File 2), looking for items that are named in the first file (File 1). So it will be a programme that take the first item of title data from file 1 and then loops through every item in file 2. Each time an item is found then the data from file 1 will be copied to a new file - file 3. That will continue for every row of title data in file 1 until there are no more items left. That will tell me which items are available on the antique and collectables website. The only data item to be searched is title. All of the other columns are not used. So for example file 1 may have a title 'Royal Doulton 2147'; this full description is to be looked for in every title in file 2. If the exact phrase 'Royal Doulton 2147' is found in file 2, then all of the information in every column of file 1 is to be copied to a new file, which is file 3. Then I need to view file 3 and that will tell me what is available on the antique and collector site that week. I can then look at those items on their website and decide if I want to buy them.
Another function I need is that if an item is duplicated in file 1 then the duplicated item needs to be automatically removed when the search is run.
The data I am scraping using Scapestorm can be saved as excel, CSV or to a database. The programmer just needs to let me know which is the preferred format.

Hi there could you please advise if this is just to be located on one PC or if you want access to it remotely.
Kind regards,
