Description
Experience Level: Entry
General information for the business: Information Technology
Description of every module: We are starting to use new accountancy program"Xero" where we can import the bank statements that we receive from the ebanking system directly into Xero. However, the formats are different and it is a heavy manual job for us to format it all the time we recive the bank statement. We are looking for an engineer who can do the conversion for us.
Please see the specification below:
1) The CSV format in which we receive the bank statements is the following:
Date from Value Date Description Debit Amount Credit Amount Balance
07.04.2016,07.04.2016,"PURSUANCE CAPITAL LTD","","50,000.00","50,000.00"
07.04.2016,07.04.2016,"TRANSACTION FEES","-60.00","","49,940.00"
2) The CSV format that we need in order to upload it into Xero should be the following ( please have a carefull look at point 2):
https://help.xero.com/BankAccounts_Details_ImportTransCSV
3) To sum up we need someone who can make our CSV bank statements automatically convert into Xero format, i.e:
- date should be in format dd/mm/yyyy instead of dd.mm.yyyy
-The amount column must be a single column. Soif our file contains 2 amount columns, combine income and expense columns into one column. Positive amounts are income. Negative amounts are expenses, and must begin with a negative sign. The amount column must not contain currency symbols, or commas instead of decimal places.
- Include only the following columns:
1) Date
2) Amount
3) Description
Delete the following columns and rows, and other data
Columns that contain no data, and sit between other columns of data
Rows that contain no data, and sit between other rows of data
Columns containing opening and closing balances
Your bank account number

Extra notes: We will provide more screenshots at the later stage but it should pretty straight forward to understand what we need to achieve.
