Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the app: office jerk for lawyers
Kind of development: Customization of existing app
Description of requirements/features: General information for the app: Lawyer Jerk
Kind of development: Customization of existing app
We're looking to create an IOS and Android version of "office jerk" but changing the setting of the game. The actual gameplay is perfect for the type of app we want to create. Here's a link to the game:
https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/office-jerk-for-ipad/id486922325?mt=8
Here's a brief description of what we want:
------
Gameplay
-----
Aim of the game is to annoy the lawyer, to the point where he storms out his office.
5 stages, with increasing difficulty to annoy the lawyer. New ‘annoy’ items unlocked after each stage.
You annoy the lawyer by throwing things at him (like Paper Toss), or by completing an action, such as stapling his tie to the desk, tapping him on the shoulder and running away, etc.
A fan is in the room/breeze from the window to make hitting the lawyer harder. And/or, each object is ‘weighted’ differently, making it harder to hit him.
The lawyers stress level is judged by a stress meter at the top of the screen.
You need to vary how you annoy the lawyer. If you just use the same thing, the stress meter decreases. (Lawyer speech bubble ‘Nope! Not this time!)
Once the stress meter is maxed out for 3 seconds, he flips his table, and storms out the room. Following this, a decorator character (basic male character in overalls for example) speeds through the room for a duration of 3 seconds. The new, fancy lawyer walks in and sits down. The next stage button then appears.
-----
Items to annoy
-----
The main focus of the game is to throw items at the lawyer. Each item could be ‘weighted’ differently, to make it a little more challenging to hit him. Each item needs it’s own animation upon hitting the lawyer/background scenery. Use of items is timed, to stop them being spammed.
Banana
Folders
Sandwiches
Water balloons
Pens
Books
Keyboard
(any other relevant item ideas welcome)
Unlockable items by stage - again, ideas welcome. Limited use, extra power to annoy
Continuous (3 second) spray from a water gun
Computer screen
Grenade
Nuclear bomb (final stage)
----------
Full Walkthrough
-----------
Home menu appears, with the ‘Play’ button. The background is a cartoon office.
Hit ‘Play’. The game starts up, and we see the boring lawyer behind his desk.
We hit the ‘items’ button in the bottom left. Opens up an in-game list of items (not a new menu or stopping any animations of the character moving). We choose a pen.
The pen appears at the bottom of the screen.
We swipe upwards, and the pen flies towards the lawyer. Because of the breeze from the window/fan, we miss.
We swipe again and hit the lawyer, who get’s annoyed.
We keep throwing items at him, changing the item periodically.
Eventually, the lawyers stress level is maxed out.
Thanks
