Wordpress WooCommerce Product Page re-design layout

I am looking to add a left sidebar menu to my product pages in WooCommerce via Wordpress child theme.

And I have uploaded a diagram of what I want.

I want it to be done so that when the template updates it won't ruin the changes, is that possible?

Also may include some small tweaks with the percentage of the columns to make sure the image is the right size compared to the left menu and the product info on the right.
