Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I think that this should be a very quick development job. We also have other utilities that need to be built...so there could be repeat business, if we establish a decent working relationship.
The application should read a Notepad text file containing a series of file paths, such as the following:
C:\Users\Downloads\ExploreFileOpen.docx
C:\Users\Downloads\Keith.docx
C:\Users\Downloads\Keith.xlsx
It should then contain the following logic:
For Each Path in the Notepad file
FileExtension = File extension from Path (e.g. .docx or .xlsx)
Select Case File Extension
Case .xlsx, xlsm, xlx
Open the file in Excel
Case .docx, docm, doc
Open the file in Word
End Select
'If there is an error opening the file, include an error handler that
'publishes the following message to an Output text file:
' "Could not open file " & Path & "; this file may be corrupt."
Next
