General information for the business: HTML report alterations
Description of requirements/functionality: My CRM generates an HTML report from its SQL database. Picture 1 shows the finished report in a pop up box in the web browser (Google Chrome) ready to be emailed to a user (as an html email). I would like the backgrounds of each cell to be coloured differently based on around 5 different statuses.
At the moment all of the statuses show in orange (as can be seen in picture 1). Picture 2 shows the 'skeleton' report that the crm uses to merge fields and create the individual report. I cannot see a way of changing the cell colour automatically as I only have access to HTML and SQL (the PHP is hidden).
My proposed solution is to use a Google Chrome extension that runs when a button or menu item is chosen and alters the DOM to change the colours if particular text is contained within each cell. There might be a more elegant solution and I am open to suggestions.
One possible problem might having a button/menu item on a popup Chrome page - currently installed extensions do not appear at the top of the window. The right click menu is different to right clicking on a 'normal' page.
Any questions, please get in touch
Specific technologies required: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Extra notes:
