Description
Experience Level: Entry
General information for the business: Personal
Kind of development: New program from scratch
Description of every module: I have a small project which requires automatic daily scraping of certain data from www.racingpost.com and delivery in Excel format as per the attached example.
Historically I have done this manually via simple copy and paste. Given that the web site site is changing (currently in beta) and I can no longer carry out this simple copy and paste exercise as a result presumably of the site's new coding, plus a desire to work smarter(!), it is time to automate this process.
The data needs scraping at 7pm UK time the day before racing for each race card fixture scheduled to take place the following day. The data needs scraping from the 'At a glance card', an example image of which is shown in the first tab of the attached Excel workbook. The other tabs show the required output. It is important that the ratings (the numbers) in the output are formatted as numbers.
This small project will be part of a bigger project which I will require assistance with.
Description of requirements/functionality: See above
CMS and Admin requirements: Given that the web site is currently in beta I am interested to understand the implications of a change in the web address (dropping the 'beta') when fully live, whether this will require amendment to coding, and if so at what cost, or if this can be built into CMS so I can update web address if it changes.
Specific technologies required: Unknown
OS requirements: Windows

Considering the proposals received to this point, i was wondering if you have already shortlisted or identified someone to work with, or are still accepting proposals?
-
Can you please attach the excel file as mentioned in the description of the job? It seems you have forgotten to attach the file.
-
If I sent you a proposal, would you be able to explain fully how to do what it is you require?
-
Hi Anthony,
Could you please let me know how much your budget is flexible?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Aarif
