Experience Level: Expert
I need to have an implementation of both the Windows XP and Vista start menus for IceWM (Linux). Currently IceWM can have the "Classic" XP Menu via the Look-XP project. This project is to add both the new XP and Vista menus to the IceWM project. The "Classic" menu should be left operational so that users can choose between the three types of menus. Programmers can download Look-XP by instruction via their project website at: http://lxp.sourceforge.net

It is highly recommended that you familiarize yourself with the current LXP project source code before bidding on this project. This code should be used as a base, the start menu is executed from the "wmtaskbar.cc" file using this line: "fApplications = new ObjectButton(this, rootMenu);", the "rootMenu" is the menu that will popup.

I have attached two photos, one showing the "new" style XP start menu and the other showing the Vista start menu. The finished project should be pretty much identical to these photos so that it is hard to differentiate between the real version of XP/Vista and the IceWM version. The menus must also be themable, with transparency on the Vista menu.

Once the project has been completed, the sourcecode will be released to the public under the GPL license.

If you would like your name mentioned on the website or in the source code, please say so.

Required knowledge: C , Linux and maybe X/motif.
