Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
As small startup we are developing a new cost-calculation-platform that outputs:
- XML file with specifications (selections made by end-user)
- graphics (graphics sketched by the end user as part of the specifications)
- XML file with list of Cost Items (a result from the calculation by the platform based on the user specifications)
- csv file with translations for different languages that can be reported
The 2 XML files and the graphics are dynamically generated, based on specifactions entered by the user. The translation csv file is fixed (though could be subjected to periodical changes of course).
We need somebody to create a .jrxml template based on those inputs for iReport.
- The report template will consist of several subreports and various numbers of subtotals for different aggregations as well as different views on the data.
- Several expressions are needed to select the proper data from the xml sources.
- The graphics have to be inserted at the proper places in the report.
The Specifications XML file has a bit of an odd layout (but easy to read and to process nontheless) as it is alos used to be reloaded by the platform as a save of the user's entered specifications.
The CostItems XML has not been defined yet.
We want to start with a basic report, which is probably just a few days work. Over time (next few weeks/months) that report will have to be extended. On the long term we will continue to develop functionalities on the platform, which will result in further development of the reports. Also we expect that customers will have specific reporting requests that we need to implement.
(Integration of JasperReports with our platform on our servers is not part of the job, but if you have good experience with it => your advise/help might be usefull).
