Hi there,
We require the (further) development of an Excel 2007 spreadsheet with some VBA functions that run "models" of income distribution and inequality based on set criteria.
Basically we posit a certain number of 'agents' (set as an option in spreadsheet, say 1000) who randomly trade with the wealth they already have (say '10' at the start) and then end up with a different amount of wealth at the end of the trade. The outcome of each trade is at first according to the normal distribution (this is 'level 1') then we add more complex criteria (normal distribution + skewed by relative wealth at start of trade = 'level 2').
So the spreadsheet currently exists running the model up to level 2 (the model is run by clicking start and stop buttons and the outcome (the wealth distribution of all agents) is shown on a large graph) but it requires developing with further levels of criteria (and some fixes to the current way levels 1 and 2 work).
So to a seasoned VBA developer this should be quite straightforward, and most of the trick will be understanding our levels of criteria. A little bit of maths is required here too (understanding normal dist.).
Full details of what exactly we need in this round of work will be sent to the successful bidder. A quote of hours and full cost would then be appreciated.
Happy bidding.
